An app on their phone. No app store.
We build progressive web apps - real installable apps that go straight onto the home screen from a link, work when the signal drops, and cost a fraction of building the same thing twice.
What a progressive web app actually is.
It is an app. It just arrives down a link instead of through a store.
A progressive web app is built with web technology but behaves like the apps already on your customer's phone. They open your address once, tap install, and your icon sits on their home screen next to WhatsApp. It opens full screen with no browser bar, it remembers them, it can send notifications, and it keeps working on a bad line or no line at all because it stores what it needs on the device.
What it does not do is make them go to Google Play or the App Store, wait on a download over expensive data, or give up two hundred megabytes of storage on a phone that does not have it. That single difference is why installs are dramatically easier to win here than a store listing that most people will never search for.
You have already used one today without noticing. This website is one - the install button in the corner of every page puts in3Days on your home screen, and that is the same technology we build for clients.
One build. No store. Works offline.
What this saves you
You build once, not twice
A native app means paying for an Android build and an iPhone build, then paying twice again every time something changes. A progressive web app is one codebase that runs on both, and on a laptop as well.
Nobody stands between you and your customer
No store review to wait on, no listing that can be pulled, no commission on what you sell. You publish an update and every user has it the next time they open the app.
It survives a bad signal
Orders, forms and records keep working with no connection and sync the moment there is one. For anybody selling in a village, on a site or in a truck, that is the difference between an app and an ornament.
It is kind to a cheap phone
A few megabytes rather than a few hundred, low data on first open, and no storage warning to argue with. Most phones in these markets are entry level and that is exactly who we build for.
It can still be found on Google
A store app is invisible to search. A progressive web app is a website underneath, so it ranks, it can be linked to, and it can be shared as a message.
You can still send notifications
Order updates, delivery alerts, a reminder that a payment is due. The same push messages a native app sends, without the native app bill.
Three days to the plan. Then we build.
An app is not a three-day job and we will not pretend otherwise. The scoping is.
Within three working days of your brief you get a written scope, a screen-by-screen map of the app and a clickable prototype you can open on your own phone and show to a partner. That is the point at which most people discover what they actually need, and it costs far less to discover it there than halfway through a build.
Build time is quoted from that scope, in stages you approve as they land. Pricing is on scope for the same reason - a stock-taking app for one branch and a booking platform for forty are not the same job, and a fixed price plucked out of the air only ever protects us.
Get a scope and a prototypeWhat people ask us to build
Nearly always the same shape: something a team uses in the field, or something a customer uses to order.
Try it before you commission it.
Tap install in the corner of this page and put in3Days on your home screen. Whatever that felt like is what your customers will feel opening yours.
